Lero: Artwork 3~Desire to Travel the world

Hehe~ am eager to post all the write ups up A.S.A.P to be done with it...(hope Itachi, Komui and Akuma does the same or else...?!)
---------------The amazing Dividing line XDD-----------------

This artwork is consist of a huge paper cutting of a hot air balloon in pasted in the middle of the paper together with a lot of different flags of different countries created from shapes cut out from various different colored paper. The hot air balloon in the middle is completely in light blue cut from the same piece of paper. The patterns on the hot air balloon looks like they originated from traditional Chinese paper cutting, however, the balloon also has shapes like cat ears and whiskers on it. The flags in the background are all flags that seemed to be easier to cut, mostly stripped.

This piece of art work was supposed to represent, as the name of the art piece suggest, my desire to one day be able to travel around the world, but at the same time, to not ever forget my home country, china, and the fact that I’m a Chinese, thus the idea of traditional Chinese paper cutting kind of pattern on the hot air balloon itself as well as the first flag at the top left corner of the whole piece being the flag on China. The cat ears and whiskers however, could be because I, being the artist of this piece, love cats and thus could somehow represent my “identity” in this artwork, in which saying that I’m the one that wish to travel around the world. I would also add that for interpretation, if this work was done by someone else, I could also have thought that maybe the flags the background are actually the countries that the artist wish to go to the most, even though for me, this is not the case.

I believe this artwork shows the desire to travel the world quite well even though this still couldn’t really express “desire”, but it’s obviously to be something someone would want.
