This art piece is done in watercolor, depicting a winter house situated near a frozen lake, with a barren forest in the foreground and some snowy mountains in the background. The art piece consisted mostly of pale and light colors of white grey and blue. There are some darker tones of colors such as the dark brown of the bare trees, the little shrubs and the water reeds. Even the wooden and brick house is mostly of a pale shade of brown.
The brushwork of this painting is mostly quite smooth, though not entirely invisible.The brushstrokes of the trees are not as smooth as the rest of the painting, as it is meant to depict the texture and varying colors of the tree bark. The colors of the bare trees are contrasting to the paleness of the rest of the winter scene.
This painting is meant to portray my desire for an experience of living in a cosy little house in a cold snowy and peaceful winter countryside, to live away from the hot and humid bustling city for a change, where the scenery is beautiful instead of full of obstructing buildings in the crowded Singapore.
