This is a simple artwork consisting of a hand sewn tiny collar and a lot of colorful yarn and a tiny ball rolled using the same type of yarn all of which were supposed to be able to be used to decorate one of the “chess piece” in our group work “Desire to live in a dream”, the Cheshire Cat.
The collar was sewn using a small piece of midnight blue cloth that feels slightly furry and had two bells, one big and one small in blue and silver respectively attached on it. The yarn used to tie around the “Cheshire Cat chess piece” was purple, pink, green and blue combined on one piece of yarn.
This artwork was could be intended to mean the playfulness of a cat and how fun and interesting a cat could be, combined with our group-worked “Cheshire Cat chess piece” it could also show the “weirdness” of a Cat, in this case the Cheshire cat, with unusually matched colors in the yarn and a collar with two bells instead of just one.
To judge this piece of work in my own opinion, I would say it’s again, not very good at expressing the part about “desire” although it could be linked to the fact that I would want a cat that would be hopefully as interesting, in this case, as the Cheshire cat from Alice in wonderland.
